Pixie Lott looks for her exclusive Lipsy range

Posted 24/04/2010

It’s always great fun working with Pixie as she loves experimenting with make-up. When I was given the brief for the campaign on Pixie Lott’s exclusive Lipsy range, I knew that she would want to go to town.

Her debut collection took inspiration from her time spent at festivals and clubs. I feel both are quite signature looks for her and both very different.

The festival range gave us an excuse to get creative and go crazy! This was fitting perfectly with the comeback of make-up…time to express yourself… big black winged eye make-up with a fluro pink accent on the lids.  Try M.A.C’s agent madness. One of Pixie’s favourites is 140 Intense Lashes by eylure, with lashings of le metier de beauté black anamorphic mascara. My new favourite… And just when you think it’s enough… no; glittering temples give the perfect backdrop to fluro pink and green love hearts and stars.  And then, if that’s not enough, nails were painted with nails. inc and nail glam by pop beauty in an array of fluro rainbow colours to complete the crazy cat festival look…amazing!!!!!!!

Here’s some application tips:

1. Firstly, line the eyes using a black khol liner. I love Lancôme khol pencils, they are so soft and you can really  blend them and work on getting the perfect shape for you
2. Then go over with M.A.C eyeshadow in carbon, this will set the liner and you can really blend out the edges and build up the intensity
3. Then pop on 140 Intense Lashes by eylure, these are not for the faint hearted but give a real rock chic look
4. Now, apply your base, keeping it as sheer as possible. For younger skin use a tinted moisturiser, Laura Mercier’s are great and they also have an oil free option
5. Pat a little she laq by benefit on your cheekbones this acts like a glue for the glitter to stay. Then brush M.A.C 3D reflects in silver along your cheekbones and also in the corners of your eyes…
6. Final but not last, take M.A.C pencils in green glo and pinkie and Lancôme artliner in black and draw love hearts and stars randomly around the cheekbones and into the temples…
7. Last bit, keep lips and cheeks petty neutral, I used L’Occitane new  soft rose ligloss  marie riviere – to be launched soon,  just patted it on Pixie’s lips and Becca  soft touch blush in wisp was used on her cheeks to give a subtle contour and life to her cheeks

Onto the clubwear… beautiful glowing skin, with a simply perfect oyster shimmer on her eyes, I love kitten by Stila; and lashings of mascara kept her eyes pretty. Using St Tropez’s skin illuminator, I gave Pixie a beautiful highlight on the upper cheekbones, temples and lightly down the centre of her nose, then used St Tropez’s radiance mousse for the contouring and a little glitz to the lower part of her cheeks. Now we are ready to make a real statement with the lips; our new Team Pixie favourite is lady  danger by M.A.C, an amazingly powerful coral red that really made this look contemporary.
